MAP PACK: Ossipee 10 Challenge Peaks
Download · Instructions

Just north of New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee, the Ossipee Range is a curious, circular geological formation that appears especially striking when viewed from above on a topographic map. It is in fact a ring dike complex - a circular structure formed by ancient volcanic activity.

Here are our individual trail reviews covering the Ossipee 10 Challenge:

A person stands atop a rocky outcrop, overlooking an expansive forested landscape. They wear a red shirt, gray pants, a black cap, and a backpack. The terrain below consists of rolling hills covered in a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, stretching into the horizon. The sky is a clear blue with a few scattered clouds, reinforcing the sense of openness and tranquility. The scene evokes an outdoor adventure, possibly a hiking excursion, with the individual appearing contemplative as they take in the view.
Mts Bald Knob, Turtleback

The routes included in this map pack show our preferred routes, but others are also sometimes available. For example, you could add Flagg Mountain to your Mount Shaw hike if you wanted to avoid starting a hike by the summer camp at Dan Hole Pond, and you could pick up the easternmost Sentinel Mountain from a separate trail. We include more information on these options in our more detailed trail reviews.
