Bromley Mountain's year-round resort has something for everyone in every season; from winter sports to summer activities that include a treetop adventure course, alpine slides, and a water chute. However, if you're looking for a more tranquil experience within the Green Mountain National Forest, then the hiking trails to Bromley Mountain's summit are a great choice.

Starting at a trailhead with a large parking area on the side of State Route 11, the most accessible route is also the mountain's most frequented. Yet this 2.9-mile forested trail still offers plenty of solitude. An alternative, and also less taxing, route approaching the summit from Mad Tom Notch to the north is also available. Both the southern and northern routes utilize the route of the famous 2,200-mile-long Appalachian Trail. Be on the lookout for through-hikers on their epic journey between Maine and Georgia, and if you're so inclined, share with them a little with some fresh fruit or other snacks to help them along their way.

The southern route to Bromley Mountain offers a moderately inclined single-track trail with a mostly forgiving surface that has no scrambles or technical obstacles to tackle. Your first viewpoint appears about three-quarters of the way to the summit, clearly signposted and located at the end of a very short spur. It's an excellent spot to take in sweeping views over Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest and enjoy a brief rest.

The final portion of the ascent transitions into meadowland, where the forest canopy opens to reveal expansive landscape vistas. These open areas provide clear sightlines across the terrain, with visibility extending to neighboring peaks and valleys below. Bromley Mountain's 3,284-foot summit offers panoramic, 360-degree views—and among the chairlifts, you'll also find an observation tower that delivers even more breathtaking perspectives.

In the right image, the same hiker walks along a rocky trail through lush vegetation. Both scenes emphasize the varied terrain and natural beauty of forest hiking.
