Looming large over San Francisco and the northern peninsula, the wilderness preserve of San Bruno Mountain state and county park is home 2,750 acres of native flora and fauna including several endangered species.

We've previously explored the Summit Loop Trail which for the most part is nestled within the Guadalupe Canyon and surrounded by nothing but natural surroundings. In stark contrast, the Ridge Trail spends most of its time high above the urban sprawl, but provides grandstand views of the spectacular bay area geography.

Check out our guide and map, which covers this trail along with others on San Bruno Mountain.
