Trailspotting's cameras have covered at least as much mileage as our hiking boots and lugging delicate cameras and lenses around trails, up snow covered mountains and across fast flowing streams can be something of a concern.
So we were relieved to finally find a great camera bag that serves our needs so well. We've been testing out Kata's T-214 Torso Pack for the past six months we love how rugged, secure compact and comfortable it is, plus it's easy to swing it around from back to front for easy access to the double-zippered top. Much better than other sling-bags we've tried.
It has a central compartment easily holds a camera body with lens attached and a couple more decent-sized lenses in reserve. Alternatively do as we do and carry just a couple of lenses and a few hiking essentials - sections inside can be adjusted to your needs.
Since the Torso Pack isn't overly large it works out particularly great and remarkably comfortable on day-hikes, but it's unique profile and styling make it look great in an urban environment too - though not one that says "hey I'm carrying a few grand of camera equipment, why don't you come and mug me?". The only thing preventing this from being the perfect pack, is that it's lacking options for carrying water on hikes, but we got around that problem with a simple $20 waist pack from Target (view).
